C and Z purlins for pre-engineered buildings
The secondary steel that carries the roof and wall sheeting on warehouses, factory sheds and PEB structures — rolled to your member schedule, punched for cleats and sag rods, and bundled by mark.
Secondary steel
Purlins, girts and eave members
The same roll-forming lines that serve solar produce the purlin and girt sections a PEB fabricator gets through by the tonne — with the punching already done.
On a pre-engineered building the primary frame is fabricated and the secondary steel is bought in. That secondary steel decides how fast the shed goes up. If purlins arrive at the right length with the cleat holes and sag-rod holes already in them, erection is bolting. If they do not, someone is on the roof with a magnetic drill.
We roll lipped Z and lipped C sections up to 12 metres, punch to your pattern and mark each bundle to your member schedule, so the crew lifts the right bundle to the right bay.
- Z purlins for lapped and nested continuous runs across multiple bays.
- C purlins and girts for end bays, wall runs and simple spans.
- Eave and base members in C and U sections.
- Cleats, jointers and base plates in 4 to 10 mm plate, IS 2062 or equivalent, hot-dip galvanized.
Lipped Z sections nest and lap at the supports, cutting the number of splices across a long run.
What you can specify
Section range for roofing work
Web, flange, lip, thickness and length are all rolled to requirement inside these ranges. Tolerances follow IS 811 and EN 10162 throughout.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roof purlin | Lipped Z | 100–300 | 1.6–3.0 | Up to 12 000 |
| End-bay purlin | Lipped C | 100–250 | 1.6–3.0 | Up to 12 000 |
| Wall girt | Lipped C or Z | 100–250 | 1.6–2.5 | Up to 12 000 |
| Eave member | C or custom | To drawing | 1.6–3.0 | Up to 12 000 |
| Base and trim member | Plain U | 40–150 | 0.7–2.5 | Up to 12 000 |
| Framing member | Slotted strut | 21–81 × 41 | 1.6–2.5 | Up to 6 000 |

Connections
The plate work that goes with the purlin
Jointers and splice plates
Slotted holes absorb cumulative tolerance across a long run, so the last bay lines up without field cutting.
Base plates and cleats
Upstands formed to match your section, holes to your drawing, so the plate seats on the member without packing.
Fasteners are supplied to match: M6 to M16 in carbon steel or stainless, zinc plated, zinc flake or hot-dip galvanized.
How it runs
From member schedule to marked bundles
- 1
Send the schedule
A purlin and girt schedule, a set of shop drawings, or the section you currently buy. We work from any of them.
- 2
We confirm and quote
We check the profile rolls cleanly at the thickness you want, then quote per member mark with lead time.
- 3
Punching pattern agreed
Cleat holes, sag-rod holes and lap holes are set out and confirmed against your drawing before the line runs.
- 4
Rolled, punched and coated
Held to IS 811 and EN 10162, then finished in the coated-steel family your specification calls for.
- 5
Bundled by mark
Labelled by member mark and bay so the erection crew lifts in sequence instead of sorting steel on the slab.
