Which section does which job

Profiles are specified by structural role, so the frame goes up as one matched system rather than four separately bought members.

Column

Lipped C

High vertical compression and ground-anchoring stability.

Rafter

Deep lipped C, U channel

Strong resistance to downward bending from the panel array.

Purlin

HAT, Z-purlin, strut

Flat top for panel clamping and easy lapping over spans.

Bracing

Light C channel

Triangulates the frame to prevent sway and counter wind-lift.

Applications

Where the profiles go to work

The same roll-formed C, Z, U and HAT sections carry the secondary framing of pre-engineered buildings and the tables of ground-mount solar plants.

Pre-engineered steel building frame under erection, with purlins spanning between the rafters

Industrial steel structures

Cold-formed profiles offer the ideal weight-to-strength ratio for pre-engineered buildings — secondary structural members that span rafters and columns, carry cladding loads, and resist wind uplift without the cost of hot-rolled sections.

  • Roof and wall purlins (C and Z, up to 12 m spans)
  • Eave and ridge strut assemblies
  • Girt and side rail cladding support
  • Mezzanine floor joist framing
  • Industrial racking, shelving, and conveyor support frames
Purlins and girts

Ground-mount solar module mounting structures

Profiles are the backbone of utility-scale and commercial solar mounting tables — from pile-driven posts to module clamp rails — designed to survive 25-year outdoor service life under Indian wind and seismic zones.

  • Module mounting rails (longitudinal and cross members)
  • Torque-tube and post-top table assemblies
  • East-west bifacial row runners using nested Z-purlins
  • DC cable management trays and conduit supports
  • Inverter and combiner box plinths

Why the section matters

Steel that arrives ready to bolt together

India is working towards 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, and ground-mounted solar carries much of that load. Demand for structures that are both affordable and technically sound has never been higher.

EPC teams already know the trade-off. A ground-mount design done right runs for decades on almost no upkeep. Done wrong, it shows up as misaligned modules, corrosion at the fasteners, wind-load failures and rework that quietly eats the margin on the job.

Every section is roll-formed from certified coil to Indian Standard grades, then finished to the dimensional tolerances set out in IS 811 and EN 10162. Profiles, brackets, clamps and fasteners are specified as one matched system, so what leaves our line fits together on site: straight, square, correctly coated and drilled to your drawing.

  • No site fabrication. Holes, slots and lengths arrive as drawn.
  • Coating matched to the site. Galvalume, hot-dip galvanized, zinc-aluminium-magnesium or pre-galvanized.
  • Supply you can schedule around. Repeat batches roll to the same tolerance.

What arrives on site

Sections are rolled, punched and cut before they leave the plant, then bundled by member type so the crew can lay out a table without sorting steel.

  • Cut to length up to 12 000 mm, tolerance ±1 to ±4 mm by length band.
  • Punched 12 or 14 mm holes and 12 × 24 or 14 × 28 mm slots on your centres.
  • Held straight within 2 mm per metre, twist within 1° per metre.
  • Coated in the system chosen for the site, not the one that was cheapest that week.

Strut systems

Slotted strut channel

A continuous slot down the full length and inturned edges, so conduits, cable trays, HVAC runs and module supports can be positioned anywhere along the member and moved later without drilling.

Rolled from coated coil and cut to exact dimensions, the strut works two ways on a solar frame: as a purlin it gives a flat top for panel clamping and laps easily over spans, and as framing it carries conduits, trays and secondary supports that may need to move later.

How we work

Built so your crew never waits on steel

Rolled to your drawing

Profile, hole pattern, slot centres and length come off the line as specified. Nothing is cut or drilled on site.

Automatic roll-forming

Precision lines hold EN 10162 tolerances batch after batch, so the tenth truckload assembles like the first.

Coating for the environment

Galvalume, hot-dip galvanized, zinc-aluminium-magnesium or pre-galvanized, selected for the site rather than for the quote.

Complete bill of materials

Channel, base plates, jointers, hangers, clamps and fasteners ship together instead of arriving from four vendors.

Predictable supply

Our own manufacturing unit in Mahesana means schedules you can plan a construction programme around.

Lighter to install

Bolted assembly with slotted adjustment cuts crew hours and removes welding and touch-up from the site scope.

About UNIKLAET

Your partner in seamless solar builds

Solar EPC projects run into the same three problems again and again: delayed deliveries, inconsistent supply and structures that do not go together the way the drawing said they would. UNIKLAET Engineering exists to remove those obstacles.

We manufacture roll-formed steel profiles for solar module mounting structures from a plant at Jhulasan in Mahesana district, Gujarat. Every section comes off the line from certified coil, precision-manufactured to combine structural reliability, faster installation and dependable supply.

Working with us should mean dependable supply, simpler logistics and solar structures that last — so your attention stays on powering the future rather than on chasing steel.

More about UNIKLAET

A typical module table: purlins, rafters and posts assembled entirely from precut roll-formed sections.

Our mission

To empower EPC teams across India by delivering precision-manufactured roll-formed profiles that combine structural reliability, faster installation and dependable supply — so every project stands strong for decades, not just years.

Our vision

To be the structural backbone of India's solar future — giving EPC teams dependable, precision-engineered profiles that turn ambitious renewable energy goals into lasting reality.

Common questions

Before you send the drawing

Which profiles and sizes do you roll?
Lipped C, lipped Z, plain U and HAT sections with webs from 40 to 300 mm, flanges from 40 to 90 mm and lips from 10 to 25 mm, in thicknesses of 0.7 to 3.0 mm and lengths up to 12 metres. Slotted strut channel is rolled in 21 × 41, 41 × 41, 61 × 41 and 81 × 41 mm, in 1.6, 2.0 and 2.5 mm, up to 6 metres.
Which coated-steel family should I choose for my site?
We supply Galvalume to IS 15961, hot-dip galvanized to IS 2062 with IS 4759 coating classes, zinc-aluminium-magnesium to IS 18513 and pre-galvanized to IS 277. Coastal and high-humidity sites usually call for a heavier zinc or a ZM coating, while dry inland sites are commonly served well by Galvalume. Send us the location and design life and we will recommend a system.
What tolerances do you hold?
Sections are produced to the dimensional tolerances of IS 811 and EN 10162. In practice that means ±0.75 mm on webs up to 100 mm, ±8% on thickness, ±1 mm on hole and slot centres, straightness within 2 mm per metre and twist within 1° per metre. Full tolerance tables are published on this page.
Can you punch holes and slots to our pattern?
Yes. Hole diameters of 12 and 14 mm and slots of 12 × 24 and 14 × 28 mm are standard, and centres are set to your drawing. Sections arrive precut and prepunched, so there is no fabrication on site.
Do you supply the fasteners and fittings as well?
Yes. Base plates, jointers, degree hangers, universal mid and end clamps to IS 875, spring and hex nuts, washers, and the full range of straight, 90-degree, angular, Z and U fittings plus post bases and two, three, four and five-way connectors — all supplied alongside the channel and finished to match.
Where do you manufacture and how far do you deliver?
Our plant is at Airawat Industrial Park, Jhulasan, Mahesana 382705, Gujarat, with the registered office in Gota, Ahmedabad. We serve EPC contractors and developers across India. Talk to us about quantities and delivery schedule for your project.
